March 2010 London Swaps/Swishes

Get ready to swish...for Youthnet

23 Mar 2010 18:00

Venue: The Crown Tavern, 43 Clerkenwell Green, LONDON

Get ready to swish……Spring clean your wardrobe for £5

Come and refresh your wardrobe, enjoy a few drinks and support a great charity…complete guilt free fun!!

How? Basically we all raid our wardrobes for three gorgeous pieces that you no longer wear and swap for other lovely pieces in return. Anything goes, shirts, tops, skirts, dresses, jumpers, cardies, shoes, bags, jewellery….anything you think deserves a good home.

Rules of the Rail:
1) Every lady must bring at least one good quality, clean item of clothing, or an accessory, that she\'d feel proud to hand on. Each guest receives a ticket per item to ‘buy’ other clothes
2) You will have half an hour to browse before the swish opens.
3) No item may be claimed before the swish opens.
4) As soon as the swish is declared open, everyone can ‘buy‘ items with their tickets.
5) Remember no scratching, spitting or fighting.

P.s Anything that was in the charity donation bag don’t worry too much about. Just to keep the swap as fair as possible.

Why? I’m asking for a donation of £3-5 to take part. All the money raised will go to YouthNet, an online charity that supports young people at some of the most critical and vulnerable points in their lives.

Since 1995, YouthNet through has been providing help, advice and information to these young people, however, times, technology and young people have changed and so must This appeal aims to achieve this change and truly revolutionise online support for young people. This is also part of my Brighton Marathon appeal

More about Swishing

What to bring:
Raid your wardrobes, cupboards and drawers for The City Swish. Whether it be shirts, tops, skirts, dresses, jumpers, cardies, trousers, coats, jackets, shoes, handbags, necklaces or scarves then simply bring them to be swapped 1 for 1 for some lovely new pieces for your wardrobe.

What not to bring:
As we like to keep the exchange as fair as possible, please leave at home the shabby old bits that you aren’t wearing simply because they are worn out. Please bring between 3 and 10 clean quality items that you would be proud to pass on.

Why should I go?
Swishing as you know is a sociable, fun, exciting eco-chic way of shopping. Refresh your wardrobes and feel fabulous with your newly exchanged finds. With a wide selection of items to choose from, sparkling wine and sweet treats to enjoy and for a great cause it will be the perfect combination of activities.

We’ve come up with a great way to meet new people in London this Spring AND find that perfect pair of shoes or Xbox game you’ve always wanted!

The CS SwapShop Social is open for business this Saturday where you could not only be finding new friends but a whole new wardrobe!

Come and join us for drinks, food, swapping and socialising!

We'll have an area reserved for us, and our host will be waiting to welcome you when you arrive and settle you in to the Social.

Keep your eyes peeled for a CitySocialising logo on the table or ask the venue staff for the table reserved under the name CitySocialising.

It’s time for a spring clean of your social life and your stuff, so what better way to launch yourself into the new season than to take part in the CitySocialising SwapShop Social!

More info...

Whether you’ve got a great dress, but you’ve grown tired of it, or a load of PS3 games which you’ve finished, bring them along and you could be swapping them for something new.

We’ll be meeting in a booth at Ruby Blue where we’ll have plenty of time to relax and meet each other before we get out the goodies and have a good old rummage around.

Everyone who comes must bring at least one item (no electronics please) so there’s something for everyone, and after we’ve finished swapping our presents it’s time to swap back to the main CS activity of enjoying a cheeky drink or two and meeting some great people!

Don’t get stuck in winter, spring forward and meet a brand new crowd this season whilst going home with something new at the CS SwapShop Social!

And after the swapping we can enjoy some snacks and drinks aswell

It's free to create an account at CitySocialising and free to book onto your first Social! Follow this link:
